Before I even knew the correct way to spell stationery (with an "e" for envelope), I was drawing my own cards and selling them to my mom so she could send special Christmas cards to family. I had dreams of becoming a children's book illustrator or an artist for Hallmark, which changed somewhat after starting a family. Working on my own at home and having a creative outlet while raising my kids were foremost in my mind. Now, with stores and resellers in more than 20 states, a website and worker bees to call my own, The Queen Bee Paper Company has blossomed into a small and profitable personalized stationery company providing paper goods for families, kids, weddings, parties and small businesses.
As a young(er) adult I loved to peruse the card aisles and buy a 6 month supply of birthday and anniversary cards, file them in my card organizer, and then couldn't wait to mail them to the recipients. I still get excited when I see an envelope in the mail addressed to me, that is not junk mail, that is the size you KNOW is a greeting card. Even better when it's not even around your birthday, and you guess it's probably a thank you or "just because" note!
With my fun and whimsical designs I hope to inspire you to write a "just because" note or thank you note; where you cannot wait to use the new cards with your name on them!
I love to draw, brainstorm in my design programs where the "magic" happens, play with type, and figure out how to create new patterns and designs that appeal to me and hopefully, you. Inspiration comes from my kids, sites like Pinterest (love!), fashion, color trends and textiles, to name a few. Just as I dress each day depending on my mood I aim to offer a variety of designs for your mood. Browse through my closet of stationery goodies and enjoy!
